Overview
The National Project Officer will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of a joint UN programme in Egypt, assisting with operational, administrative, and financial aspects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and monitoring of operational, administrative and financial aspects of the project.
- Keep the supervisor informed on project implementation status, identify gaps and suggest improvements.
- Participate in the development and adjustment of work plans, project budgets, M&E tools and SOPs.
- Coordinate the collection, verification and analysis of data and background information.
- Update information management systems and social media platforms on project activities.
- Coordinate timely preparation and dissemination of project reports.
- Liaise and coordinate with donors, partners, UN agencies, local authorities and government counterparts.
- Contribute to the planning, development, organization and delivery of capacity building activities.
- Attend relevant conferences, workshops, working groups, and interagency coordination meetings.
- Participate in the preparation of project proposals, concept notes and other planning documents.
- Supervise and provide training and technical guidance to project staff.
- Undertake duty travel relating to project implementation, monitoring visits, project assessments, and liaison with counterparts.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
- Two years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
- Master's degree in the above-mentioned fields.
