Overview
Oversee the day-to-day implementation of Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS) in a supervisory and coordinating role, ensuring operations align with a survivor-centred approach and humanitarian principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day WGSS operations, providing administrative and operational support to field teams.
- Provide administrative support for the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
- Support the development of transition planning for WGSS operations.
- Manage overall monitoring and reporting cycle, including collecting, compiling, and validating data.
- Track implementation progress against an Annual Work Plan.
- Strengthen data collection and reporting processes within WGSS.
- Ensure all WGSS activities and services strictly adhere to UNFPA programming standards and GBV guiding principles.
- Implement quality checklists, field monitoring tools, and beneficiary complaint and feedback mechanisms.
- Collaborate with UNFPA and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to address operational bottlenecks.
- Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and operational support to the WGSS field team.
- Monitor staff performance and identify capacity-building needs.
- Manage staff schedules and task allocations.
- Support communication efforts to increase visibility of WGSS activities.
- Contribute to interagency meetings by collecting field-level insights.
- Conduct regular service mapping exercises.
Required Experience
At least three years professional experience in the field of refugee protection with a focus on GBV and reproductive health and with experience in programme / project management required. Practical experience in design, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian and/or development projects required. Field experience addressing GBV prevention and response and reproductive health in emergency context is a strong asset. Knowledge on refugee protection and humanitarian action is required. Knowledge on “Do No Harm” and safeguarding principles including PSEA. Strong commitment to the mandate of the UN and UNFPA required. Knowledge and understanding of gender and cultural sensitivity and “do no harm” approach is required.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in a field of study relevant to UNFPA’s mandate and job scope, such as project management, public administration, humanitarian action, political science, public health, gender studies, law or other related fields.
