Overview
Policy Officer role within the Directorate-General for Communications, Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT) focusing on ICT safety and security, specifically cybersecurity risk assessments and policy development.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing EU cybersecurity policies and capabilities.
- Working on EU initiatives such as the revision of the Cybersecurity Act, the EU Toolbox on 5G cybersecurity, the Cyber Solidarity Act, and the European Cybersecurity Alert System.
- Tracking the Commission’s work on economic security.
- Overseeing EU financial support for cybersecurity projects.
- Acting as Commission interface with the EU Cybersecurity Agency (ENISA) and the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC).
- Collaborating with other relevant units and actors in the EU cybersecurity ecosystem.
- Conducting cybersecurity risk assessments that inform policy decisions.
- Analysing digital value chains and dependencies across Europe's critical sectors.
- Supporting work on the negotiations of the Cybersecurity Act 2 (CSA2) proposal.
- Contributing to the development of ICT supply chain security policy.
Required Experience
- Strong technical expertise in the area of cybersecurity, with telecommunications being an asset.
- Experience with the development of risk assessments would be an asset.
- Knowledge of EU level decision-making and legislative or non-legislative procedures, in EU institutions or on files with a European dimension, would be an asset.
Qualifications
• Have a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma.
