Overview

Implement Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (RAC) sector activities under HPMP Stage II (second tranche) in Ghana, focusing on training, equipment provision, and awareness campaigns to improve refrigerant containment and reduce HCFC consumption.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to prepare and submit a detailed work plan and implementation schedule.
  • Participate in coordination and review meetings.
  • Strengthen institutional capacity of NARWOA by organizing seminars and supporting material distribution.
  • Train RAC servicing technicians on equipment and toolkit use.
  • Build capacity of RAAG and affiliated associations through training workshops.
  • Organize workshops on low-global-warming-potential (GWP) technologies.
  • Conduct awareness workshops on green buildings and energy-efficient RAC equipment.
  • Organize mass-media awareness events on energy-efficient RAC technologies.
  • Conduct workshops on environmentally friendly technologies for the commercial and industrial RAC sector.
  • Conduct training workshops on environmentally friendly fire suppression systems.
  • Prepare periodic progress reports.
  • Prepare a comprehensive final report.
Required Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in engineering, environmental science, refrigeration technology, or a related field, including technical expertise in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) sector with practical knowledge of servicing practices, refrigerant containment, recovery and recycling, and the safe handling of low-GWP and flammable refrigerants. Experience conducting stakeholder consultations at the national and regional levels, including engagement with government agencies, private sector actors, training institutions and industry associations, is required.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in engineering or environmental science or related area is required. A first-level university degree, combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
