Overview

The role supports operational activities related to food security and nutrition within projects and programs, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, and operational guidelines.


Key Responsibilities
  • Guarantee adequate planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of strategies and activities related to food security and nutrition.
  • Verify that menus supplied in the program comply with technical guidelines and nutritional standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to food handlers, operators, and actors involved in the PAE on good handling practices, food safety, and nutritional adequacy criteria.
  • Prepare periodic reports on program/project execution regarding nutritional quality, food consumption, findings, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support the formulation and implementation of quality and safety plans for food programs.
  • Foster relationships and collaborate with counterparts in key supply chain functions to establish and implement policies and guidelines.
  • Supervise the implementation of field operational systems to prevent and mitigate food losses.
  • Provide specialized advice and supervision in food processing, production, and control.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational processes related to food safety through data collection and analysis.
  • Supervise infrastructure, equipment, and preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment used in food storage, production, and distribution operations.
  • Ensure the implementation of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and hygienic-sanitary standards.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to supply chain actors from procurement to consumption points.
  • Participate in audits and supervision of control entities conducted on the School Feeding Program.
  • Coordinate and support the management of committees and program monitoring spaces.
Required Experience

Five (5) years of progressive experience in the design and implementation of social programs, territorial development, planning, and community participation, especially in school feeding programs. Specific experience of at least (3) years in projects related to advising, implementing, monitoring, auditing, and public contracting of school feeding services. Desirable experience working in complex contexts. Desirable previous experience in humanitarian responses. Desirable experience in capacity building for community organizations. Desirable previous experience with UN agencies, funds, and/or programs.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary education cycle. Desirable, a professional degree in areas such as: nutrition, food engineering, agronomy or agricultural engineering, sanitary or environmental engineering, and/or related fields.
