Overview
Plans, assesses, designs, implements, and monitors the ICRC’s Economic Security (EcoSec) programme in line with the country strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Contributes to designing or adjusting data-collection tools.
- Performs mid-level qualitative and quantitative data analysis, describes results and produces data visualizations.
- Collects secondary information from available sources.
- Collects nutrition information at the household level.
- Produces EcoSec Assessment reports.
- Contributes to designing and implementing voucher, fair, food/cash-for-work, cash transfer and microeconomic initiative programs.
- Contributes to the design and implementation of agro-interventions at field level.
- Initiates and contributes to drafting reports and project proposals.
- Reviews reports from other FOs linked to emergency response and agro interventions.
- Supports other EcoSec FOs and National Societies teams.
- Proactively engages in designing and planning interventions.
- Drafts project proposals.
- Facilitates and participates in thematic feasibility assessments.
- Plans, organizes and implements livelihood interventions.
- Ensures the participation of A&E teams.
- Carries out registration of beneficiaries and enters data into databases.
- Compiles beneficiary lists and verifies beneficiaries.
- Supports cash teams in verifying beneficiaries.
- Maintains and updates beneficiary registration databases.
- Plans, organizes and carries out distribution.
- Enters data into and maintains the survey database and the EcoSec Programme Management Tool (PAM).
- Collects and analyses market price data.
- Analyses strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis).
- Contributes to identifying response options.
- Contributes to designing a good method for registering beneficiaries.
- Contributes to developing methods, plans, implementation, logistics and reporting for aid distribution.
- Contributes to analyzing the security, socioeconomic, cultural and political environment.
- Translates documents for internal use and interprets upon request.
- May provide supervision, guidance, support and appraisals for EcoSec staff at B1 levels.
- Follows up on work-related messages and correspondence.
- Collects and shares information to improve the ICRC’s understanding of the environment and humanitarian trends.
- Represents the ICRC during activities, in meetings, and in the field.
- Takes responsibility for professional learning and development.
- Processes and manages EcoSec project payments and prepares monthly cash forecasts.
- Maintains and regularly updates the beneficiary database.
- Prepares movement plans for the EcoSec team.
- Receives, documents, and resolves beneficiary complaints.
- Supports Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) and/or Post Harvest Monitoring (PHM) activities.
- Verifies selected workers’ data in the database.
- Monitors and flags dynamics, emerging trends, challenges and events affecting economic security.
- Advises field teams in the identification of needs and prioritization exercises.
- Contributes to monthly AoR meetings.
- Supports multidisciplinary efforts in the AoR.
Required Experience
4-6 years’ experience in a similar field of activity. Comprehensive knowledge of and exposure to a wide range of humanitarian assistance and emergency relief.
Qualifications
University degree in Economics, Development studies, Sociology or Agriculture/Veterinary science.
