Overview

The Shelter and Settlements Technical Coordinator will provide overall technical leadership to DRC’s shelter programming, ensuring high-quality implementation and strategic direction.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the strategic development of DRC’s Shelter, WASH and Infrastructure (SWI) programming.
  • Contribute to high-quality proposals, reports, and needs assessments.
  • Provide technical guidance to programme teams to ensure high-quality shelter programming and adherence to sector standards.
  • Develop and improve technical tools, support problem-solving during implementation, and build staff capacity.
  • Promote integrated programming across shelter, protection, economic recovery, and other relevant sectors.
  • Represent DRC in relevant coordination forums and technical working groups.
  • Support donor engagement, advocacy initiatives, and resource mobilisation efforts.
  • Strengthen and expand shelter partnerships.
  • Provide technical oversight and support to partners delivering shelter activities.
Required Experience
  • At least 5 years working experience in similar job across diverse, complex crisis contexts.
  • Experience of tendering and managing contracted work.
  • Management experience in a construction context.
Qualifications

Degree in civil engineering or equivalent, or 7+ years of relevant experience.

Languages Required
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
Languages Preferred
Fluency in Ukrainian (written and spoken)
Contract Duration
12 months with the possibility of extension
Work Modality
Willing to travel regularly to rural/remote project sites
Remuneration
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for employees on national and international contracts
