Overview
The Shelter and Settlements Technical Coordinator will provide overall technical leadership to DRC’s shelter programming, ensuring high-quality implementation and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the strategic development of DRC’s Shelter, WASH and Infrastructure (SWI) programming.
- Contribute to high-quality proposals, reports, and needs assessments.
- Provide technical guidance to programme teams to ensure high-quality shelter programming and adherence to sector standards.
- Develop and improve technical tools, support problem-solving during implementation, and build staff capacity.
- Promote integrated programming across shelter, protection, economic recovery, and other relevant sectors.
- Represent DRC in relevant coordination forums and technical working groups.
- Support donor engagement, advocacy initiatives, and resource mobilisation efforts.
- Strengthen and expand shelter partnerships.
- Provide technical oversight and support to partners delivering shelter activities.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years working experience in similar job across diverse, complex crisis contexts.
- Experience of tendering and managing contracted work.
- Management experience in a construction context.
Qualifications
Degree in civil engineering or equivalent, or 7+ years of relevant experience.
