Overview

This internship opportunity is within the Department of Global Communications, focusing on NGO Relations and Outreach. The role assists in disseminating information about UN activities and connecting the UN with civil society organizations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Screen and review registration applications for High-Level Events.
  • Analyze and run data for registration statistics.
  • Create infographics reports for events.
  • Review and compile CSO submissions for the Civil Society newsletter.
  • Create social media cards/video content, design event flyers & RSVP Forms.
  • Monitor generic office email and respond to emails.
  • Assist with the NGLS Annual report, event planning & logistics.
  • Provide technical support and minutes during meetings.
  • Other duties as required.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
