Overview

This internship supports visibility and advocacy activities for the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) Rome Liaison Office.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Rome Liaison Office team with daily work related to visibility and advocacy activities.
  • Conduct internet research on thematic issues relevant to the UNICRI work programme.
  • Monitor inboxes to respond to queries from students and stakeholders.
  • Provide logistic support to in-person events.
  • Assist with planning and organization of in-person and online events.
  • Maintain databases for visibility and advocacy events.
  • Provide general office support.
  • Assist in researching innovations in meeting organizations, communications methods and training methodologies.
  • Produce communication and outreach products.
  • Support to other activities and projects, as requested.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Preferable fields of study: communication, political sciences, psychology, marketing, journalism or other related fields. Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
