Overview

The Business Transformation Officer (BTO) partners with colleagues and stakeholders to understand their needs and operating environment, transforming business requirements into solutions that leverage IT capabilities and focus on business satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities
  • Capture, analyze and document business requirements for IT solutions and services.
  • Communicate business requirements to business counterparts.
  • Baseline and track business requirements through implementation.
  • Test and analyze IT solutions.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the service catalog of IT solutions.
  • Manage alignment of IT service levels with SLAs.
  • Conduct surveys on business satisfaction with IT solutions and services.
  • Manage estimates, business cases, planning, risk identification, change management, problem and issue resolution.
  • Promote the application of business analysis, process improvement, project management and governance practices.
  • Support digital transformation, innovation and organizational change initiatives.
  • Provide advice to managers and users.
  • Guide and supervise more junior staff.
  • Contribute to the capability building of staff.
  • Coordinate with other UN agencies.
  • Interact effectively with internal and external colleagues and user groups.
  • Proactively engage key stakeholders.
  • Ensure emergency response processes and procedures are in place.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

At least three (3) years of progressively responsible postgraduate professional experience with specific experience in information technology management, digital transformation, business process reengineering, enterprise systems, or organizational change management. Experience in a senior leadership role managing IT functions, digital strategy, or business transformation initiatives within a large and geographically dispersed organization. Demonstrated experience in aligning technology strategies with organizational objectives. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams. Proven ability to manage ICT budgets, vendor contracts, and partnerships. Experience supporting field operations in challenging environments, including emergency response, humanitarian programming, or development operations. Experience in leveraging emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, robotic process automation, cloud platforms, data visualization, and advanced analytics.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in Computer Science, engineering or other relevant technology related field.
