Overview

The Fleet and Warehouse Officer will manage and coordinate fleet and warehouse operations, ensuring effective management of vehicles, freight, and supplies in compliance with organizational policies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day-to-day fleet operations and supervise drivers.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained, serviced, and repaired according to recommendations and SCI standards.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance, workshop repairs, and maintain complete maintenance records.
  • Conduct technical inspections of rental vehicles before deployment.
  • Ensure vehicles are equipped with required safety and security equipment.
  • Maintain vehicle documentation, maintenance history, and monthly fleet reports.
  • Coordinate vehicle movement plans and assign drivers.
  • Ensure vehicle logbooks and fleet documentation are complete and accurate.
  • Monitor vehicle utilization and ensure compliance with SCI fleet policies.
  • Manage warehouse operations in accordance with SCI warehouse management standards.
  • Receive, store, dispatch, and accurately record all programme supplies and assets.
  • Maintain warehouse documentation including GRNs, Waybills, Bin Cards, Stock Cards, and inventory records.
  • Ensure proper stock storage, inventory control, and stock reconciliation.
  • Monitor expiry dates and storage conditions for perishable commodities.
  • Prepare and submit monthly warehouse and stock reports.
  • Maintain accurate asset and inventory records using SCI inventory management systems.
  • Ensure warehouse safety, cleanliness, and compliance with organizational procedures.
Required Experience

Minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience in fleet, warehouse, or supply chain management. Demonstrated supervisory experience with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant field. Diploma or Certificate in Auto Mechanics or Automotive Engineering with relevant maintenance experience is an advantage.

Languages Required
Good communication skills in English. Proficiency in Afar language is mandatory.
Languages Preferred
Experience working with humanitarian or international non-governmental organizations. Knowledge of logistics, procurement, and supply chain management. Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
