The Project Officer will support the effective implementation and day-to-day coordination of project activities under the Building Resilience to Cope with Climate Change in Jordan through Improving Water Use Efficiency in the Agriculture Sector (BRCCJ) Project.
Minimum of two (2) years (with a master’s degree) or four (4) years (with a bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience related to climate change, environment, disaster management, project/programme management, and/or relevant field is required. Experience in project management, including coordination, financial management, risk management, and partnership management. Experience in policy analysis, development work, project management and implementation (including financial management) in the area of climate change-related issues, including but not limited to agriculture, livelihoods and food security, is an asset. Experience and knowledge of the environmental services sector, agriculture sector and/or business incubation/development and experience in co- ordinating or implementing activities for youth, women and entrepreneurship is an asset. Experience and knowledge of the country’s institutional framework and policies of climate change is an asset. Experience working with government, donors or the UN previously is an asset.
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Management, Environmental Management, or any other related field is required. Or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience.
