Overview

Provide general nursing assistance and support to migrants and/or refugees in relation to migration health assessments, treatments, and referrals. Assist medical team members with history taking, biodata collection, and ID verification.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general assistance with daily nursing activities including medical examinations, vital signs checks, and sample collection.
  • Support TB management, infection prevention and control, and pre-departure procedures.
  • Support documentation, certification, and information transmission.
  • Transport samples to the laboratory and liaise with the laboratory for results.
  • Provide support and information to migrants regarding health assessments, treatments, and referrals.
  • Assist medical team members with history taking, biodata collection, and ID verification.
  • Maintain health program checklists and SOPs, and adhere to universal precautions.
  • Assist in medical emergency and chronic case management.
  • Arrange for specialist consultations and ensure receipt of reports.
  • Maintain accurate records and upload medical reports to databases.
  • Perform medical escort duties when required.
  • Assist with checking medical invoices.
  • Prepare lists of medical drugs and supplies for ordering and assist in inventory taking.
Required Experience

For Bachelor's Degree holder a minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience and for Diploma holder a minimum of four (4) years of relevant clinical experience. Training or working experience in Tuberculosis management, mass immunizations, communicable diseases, laboratory testing or public health is an advantage. Experience in working with people from different cultural backgrounds is an advantage. Knowledge of and experience in clinical nursing. Knowledge of principles of preventive care and disease control.

Qualifications

Certificate or High School diploma from an accredited academic institution in Nursing. A valid license to practice nursing in the country of duty station.

Languages Required
Fluency in French, and english is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Training or working experience in the areas of Tuberculosis management, mass immunizations, communicable diseases, laboratory testing or public health is an advantage; and, Experience in working with people from different cultural background is an advantage.
