Overview
This internship is located in the Energy, Housing and Land Management Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva, Switzerland. The internship is designed to contribute to the work of the Division in promoting sustainable energy development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the organisation and servicing of intergovernmental and expert meetings.
- Conduct research, data analysis, draft studies and short articles, and contribute to social media campaigns.
- Assist in data collection and analysis, including through web search, and preparation of documentation.
- Carry out other tasks such as meeting support, drafting of reports and updating databases.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Studies in energy, sustainable development, economics, international relations or equivalent are required.
- Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
