Overview

This internship focuses on data visualization and database management within the Department of Operational Support, assisting with health-related projects and reporting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of health-related projects.
  • Develop Power BI reports and other data visualization reports of health-related data.
  • Contribute to the monitoring of health policy developments.
  • Assist in preparing official documents, ensuring accuracy.
  • Conduct research on medical and psychosocial policies and internet searches.
  • Assist with reporting, drafting, and editing content for print, web, and multimedia.
  • Assist in organizing special events and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Required Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
  • a) Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent or higher);
  • b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (Bachelor's level or equivalent); or
  • c) Have graduated with a university degree (secondary or first level);
  • d) Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
  • e) Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
  • f) Risk/Crisis management and/or Emergency Care background is desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Power BI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
  • An orientation in statistical data analytics is desirable.
  • Public Health or Data Management background is desirable.

Languages Required
Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
3-6 months
Work Modality
In person in New York or remote, full time or part-time modalities would be considered.
Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
