Overview
Support in the implementation of community outreach activities under the Protection Non-emergencies Community Outreach project. The role involves organizing and facilitating community dialogues, assisting in project planning and monitoring, and contributing to communication efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in organizing and facilitating community outreach campaigns including community dialogues, roadshows, focus‑group discussions, and info sessions on safe migration, trafficking risks, and available services.
- Participate in the organization of meetings and workshops with key leaders, migrant groups (including youth, women, etc) in order to enhance safe migration messaging
- Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics, highlighting noteworthy issues for the consideration of appropriate parties.
- Draft status reports; identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest corrective measures.
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentation.
- Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in the delivering of capacity building workshops.
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Support the collection, writing, and packaging of human-interest stories from the field that highlight program impact and bring visibility to key issues and beneficiaries.
- Draft clear, engaging copy for social media platforms in close coordination with Media and Communication Unit, aligned with organizational messaging and tailored to target audiences.
- Contribute creative ideas for visibility and outreach, including brainstorming concepts to enhance the visibility of project activities and donor engagement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, Communication studies, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience. Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations; Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. Experience in community outreach, public affairs, development, and/or education. Experience managing and mentoring teams and in promoting achievement of project objectives.
