Overview
Supervises and controls the implementation of social assistance programmes, represents the Relief and Social Services Programme at the Area level, and provides administrative supervision to the assigned team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervises and controls the implementation of the Social Safety Net (SSN) assistance, emergency assistance programmes or any other social transfer programmes.
- Acts as a secretary to the SSN appeals committee.
- Ensures regular and timely preparation of priority lists of SSN families for assistance.
- Conducts random visits to active SSN families to ensure reliability of collected data and adherence of staff to eligibility criteria.
- Monitors and follows-up the distribution process to ensure efficient and smooth running of social transfers/emergency distribution.
- Plans, coordinates and follows-up with concerned staff on timely and proper/efficient delivery/response of approved/recommended assistance.
- Provides administrative and logistical support to Area Registration teams.
- Promotes joint multi-disciplinary, holistic and integrated social intervention activities targeting clients.
- Represents RSSP, and coordinates with other Field staff, in any emergency requiring direct relief.
- Coordinates for pre-planned needs assessment studies.
- Liaises with local community organizations and NGOs.
- Plans and holds regular meetings with RSS staff.
- Acts as the focal point for refugees’ inquiries and petitions.
- Maintains custodianship over RSSD premises, in his/her Area, and reports on contravention and incursions.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience
At least five years' relevant experience in relief services and/or social development programmes in functions related to those in para 3 above, of which at least three years should be in a supervisory/ management level, preferably in a similar programme is required.
Qualifications
A university degree from accredited institution in social work, sociology, psychology, social anthropology, guidance and counseling or other related Field. Professional qualifications: Training on action oriented social research and participation in at least two research projects.
