Overview
This role performs specific accounting functions related to Private Sector Fund Raising, focusing on financial management, systems strengthening, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage daily banking transactions for donations.
- Verify reports from banks and processing agencies.
- Prepare monthly analysis of Bank GL and manual clearing entries for BRS.
- Follow up on reconciling items in BRS.
- Deposit refunds and recoveries.
- Manage Revenue and Receivables in compliance with UNICEF’s policy.
- Review grant creation/amendment requests.
- Support country offices to ensure receipts for Common Services are correctly recorded.
- Share information relating to updated Banking regulations, accounting policies and procedure.
- Follow up with the Bank and Agencies for timely receipt of MIS.
- Prepare monthly and yearly financial closing for the unit.
- Prepare monthly contribution report.
- Coordinate with DFAM unit & RM team for required details on agreement for issuance of new Grant.
- Address queries from PPD/ GSSC/ country offices and other internal stakeholders on matters related to Grants Management.
- Support in Preparation of Quarterly Financial Report, Revenue Expenditure Report.
- Perform detailed monthly reconciliation process between Salesforce and VISION.
- Verify data, answer queries and obtain additional information on accounts and financial transactions.
- Act as focal point for Cash Management System with the bank.
- Liaison with officials of local banks.
- Coordinate with the bank for implementation of new products for acceptance of donations.
- Responsible for all matters pertaining to maintenance of office bank accounts.
- Provide support to supervisor and the rest of the team with reports and schedules.
- Back-up of Finance Officer/ Senior Finance Associate/Assistant in the Unit and perform other assignments as required.
Required Experience
7 years of relevant work experience in Finance and Accounting is required. A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a relevant field may replace 3 years of related work experience. A Master’s degree may replace an additional 2 years. Experience of financial transactions relating to Fund raising activities would be considered as an asset.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary education is required. Professional/university level courses in Accounting and Finance/Business administration are considered as an asset.
