Risk Officer NO-A Yangon

Overview

To provide support to the Country Office by strengthening risk management activities, including the application of controls and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to embedding risk management in planning and decision-making.
• Regularly update risk registers and track progress on risk mitigation actions.
• Support the collection of feedback and data on risk performance.
• Assist in spot checks of cooperating partners.
• Assist managers in regular and ad hoc risk assessments.
• Utilize risk management tools to link risk, oversight, and evaluation information.
• Provide risk analysis for donor risk-sharing and resource mobilization.
• Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for managing risk and accountability.
• Provide support to management accountability across functional units.
• Support the completion of the annual Executive Director’s Assurance exercise survey.
• Lead the process to establish and review the Risk Register.
• Assist managers in preparing for Internal and External Audits.
• Support the promotion and dissemination of the Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption (AFAC) Policy.
• Assist managers in fact-finding reviews and fraud risk assessments.
• Support Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) matters.

Required Experience

At least one or more years of relevant, progressively responsible experience in leading, undertaking and/or contributing to planning activities, or other relevant fields. Familiar with WFP’s results framework and planning processes. Has participated in conversations with other units on impact, timing or planning initiatives, using analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills as well as resourcefulness, initiative and proactiveness, good judgement, tact and diplomacy. Has conducted incident management, monitoring and reporting activities. Has contributed to risk management activities, including risk analysis and risk mitigation strategies development and/or implementation, assessing and recommending effective internal controls and mitigation actions. Experience in programme/project management.

Qualifications

Advanced University degree in business/public administration, finance, accounting, international development, audit or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training/courses in audit, performance and risk management or other related fields.
