Overview

The Programme Analyst will contribute to the effective management and implementation of UN Women programmes focused on women's economic empowerment within the green economy. The role involves providing technical inputs to programme planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, reporting, and partnership management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute technically to the development of programme strategies in women's economic empowerment through the green economy.
  • Provide substantive technical support to the implementation and management of assigned programmes.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity development to programme partners.
  • Provide technical inputs to the monitoring and reporting of the programme/project.
  • Provide substantive technical inputs to the management of people and finances.
  • Provide substantive inputs to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies.
  • Provide technical support to inter-agency coordination on women's economic empowerment – green economy.
  • Provide substantive inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Required Experience

At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in agricultural or rural development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building is required. Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is required. Experience in establishing and operationalizing agricultural infrastructure including greenhouses, irrigation systems, treated waste water, and water-use technologies is required. Experience in the use of a modern web-based UN or international donors’ financial and programme management Systems is desirable. Experience in project management, problem-solving, and coordination skills is required. Strong communication and reporting abilities in both Arabic and English is required. Ability to undertake frequent field travel and work in rural environments is required.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent in master’s degree preferred in agriculture and green economy, horticulture, irrigation, agricultural economics, or related fields, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in economy, engineering, water and environment science or any other relevant field, a combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A project/programme management certification would be an added advantage.
