Overview
Associate Programme Officer to support the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of a regional program focused on inclusive education planning in West Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Support overall coordination, management, implementation, and monitoring of the regional program.
- Support the coordination, organization, and follow-up of program activities, including workshops and meetings.
- Support the preparation of technical missions and synthesis documents.
- Support risk identification and mitigation.
- Support the implementation of quality assurance strategies.
- Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation approach, including data collection and analysis.
- Contribute to program reporting.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of Component 1, particularly the training on "Foundations of Education Sector Planning for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities."
- Support the coordination of training, including document development and quality assurance.
- Support the effective participation of persons with disabilities in training cohorts.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of Component 2, managing the community of practice.
- Support member recruitment, online event organization, and platform content curation.
- Support the selection of member contributions and identification of "champions."
- Support the implementation of Components 3 and 4 in Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Guinea Bissau.
- Support the preparation and documentation of technical meetings and workshops.
- Support the follow-up of recommendations and decisions.
- Support state and non-state partners and consultants.
- Support technical focal points in reviewing deliverables.
- Facilitate coordination and communication between stakeholders.
- Contribute to periodic technical reports and synthesis notes.
- Contribute to the capitalization of experiences and documentation of good practices.
- Contribute to the preparation, processing, statistical analysis, and visualization of data.
- Participate in the interpretation of quantitative analysis results.
- Provide technical support to IIEP-UNESCO Africa staff as needed.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in program implementation or monitoring in the education sector, ideally related to inclusion or disability.
- Experience working with international organizations, ideally in the education sector (desirable).
- Experience in regional or multi-country projects (desirable).
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation and capitalization (desirable).
- Experience in managing online communities of practice (desirable).
- Familiarity with disability and inclusion themes (desirable).
Qualifications
University degree (minimum Bachelor's, ideally Master's) in education planning, statistics, economics, social sciences, public policy, or a related field.
