Overview

The Weapon Contamination Officer supports the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Weapon Contamination (WeC) activities. The role provides technical, administrative, and coordination support to reduce the humanitarian impact of explosive hazards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, monitor, and continuously improve Weapon Contamination (WeC) activities.
• Support risk identification and risk assessments.
• Coordinate and provide administrative and logistical support for WeC/RASB trainings, workshops, meetings, and field activities.
• Monitor programme budgets and expenditures.
• Prepare, maintain, and manage operational records, reports, filing systems, and programme documentation.
• Manage WeC programme data by maintaining accurate databases and entering operational information.
• Provide high-quality English–Myanmar interpretation and translation for meetings, trainings, workshops, and official documents.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external partners.
• Monitor and manage Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.
• Ensure all administrative, financial, and operational activities comply with ICRC policies, procedures, timelines, and documentation standards.

Required Experience

Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in humanitarian operations, weapon contamination/mine action, risk reduction, project coordination, or a related field. Strong administrative, analytical, and organizational skills, with experience in data management, reporting, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Demonstrated ability to work independently in challenging environments, manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and uphold ICRC principles and humanitarian values. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams. Previous experience with the ICRC or other humanitarian organizations is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Disaster Risk Management, International Relations, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or another relevant field.
