Overview
The Associate Programme Officer (Market Analysis) role supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of trade and investment intelligence projects. The role involves research, data analysis, and providing substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned trade and investment intelligence projects.
- Monitor and analyze specific aspects of programme/project development and implementation.
- Review relevant documents and reports.
- Identify problems and issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with relevant parties and identify and track follow-up actions.
- Carry out basic research on trade and investment information and online solutions.
- Collect, analyze and present statistical data and other information.
- Provide substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
- Assist in performing consulting assignments, including planning and facilitating workshops.
- Participate in survey initiatives and assist with the design of data collection tools.
- Review, analyze and interpret responses to data collection tools.
- Contribute to the preparation of various written outputs.
- Provide administrative and substantive support to meetings, conferences, etc.
- Assist in outreach activities and participate in the development of training workshops.
- Participate in field missions, including provision of substantive and administrative support and data collection.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant experience in project/programme management administration or related area is required. Experience in supporting trade and investment intelligence project is desirable. Experience in designing, developing and monitoring customized web solutions for businesses including the Global Trade Helpdesk is desirable.
Qualifications
A first-level university degree in business administration, management, economics or a related field. An advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field may be accepted in lieu of relevant professional work experience.
