Overview
Support the Programme Monitoring and Evaluation Unit in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs by assisting with programme plan drafting, reporting, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the drafting and review of DESA’s proposed programme plan for 2028;
- Draft background papers and senior-level talking points;
- Prepare meeting summaries, concept notes and presentations;
- Consolidate input to senior managers compacts and to Secretariat wide reporting processes related to gender equality, disability inclusion and multilingualism;
- Contribute to the drafting and reviewing of monitoring and evaluation reports, including evaluations and audits conducted by oversight bodies;
- Assist in data collection, review and analysis of responses to evaluations and audits conducted by oversight bodies;
- Support the follow-up to the implementation of findings and recommendations of internal and external evaluations;
- Research, analyze and present information gathered from diverse sources on economic, social and sustainable development topics;
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Experience

Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Applicants must be computer literate and have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams and MS Copilot.
- Must have excellent drafting skills in English, ability to analyze, synthesize and extract essential information.
- The successful applicant must be detail oriented, diligent, and deliver high-quality documents.
- A field of study in business administration, programme management, economics, political science, international relations, public administration, evaluation or a related field is required.
- Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Teams.
- Applicants must have excellent drafting skills in English, ability to analyze, synthesize and extract essential information.
- Applicants must be detail oriented, diligent, and deliver high-quality outputs.
- Applicants should have expertise with data collection and visualization tools.
