Overview
This internship provides assistance to the Multilateral Fund Secretariat with research on refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heat pumps technologies, including costs, intellectual property rights, and training capacities.
Key Responsibilities
- Mapping refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heat pumps technologies at different capacities and in different regions in terms of using controlled substances and alternative refrigerants or technologies including indicative costs.
- Collect and assess details related to intellectual property rights (IP) of alternative technologies and components.
- Summarize and compare findings of different global/regional RACHP technology reports including TEAP/RTOCs and others posted by international RACHP associations or organizations.
- Collect and analyse details about MAC technology for different types of vehicles (personal or public) including related available training capacities and events.
- Collect and analyse details about RACHP training institutes in Article 5 countries in terms of capacities, type of training and certificates, and engagement in Montreal Protocol related training.
- Collect and assess different digital tools for RACHP training and servicing support aids not including tools for equipment.
- Compile list of available servicing equipment and tools for training and good servicing practices purposes in RACHP sector.
- Assist in designing an internal portal for populating all above technology related information and documentation in a structured and searchable format allowing regular updates.
- Other related work as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Program.
Qualifications
Applicants must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: - Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); - Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent); or - Have graduated with a university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Science, or a related field with a strong emphasis on technical research, data analysis, and sustainable technologies. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
