Overview
Engage an International Consultant/Trainer to provide expertise, develop training content, and deliver sessions on gender-responsive police response to violence against women and domestic violence in Kazakhstan.
Key Responsibilities
- Review national legislation, policies, and international standards on police response to domestic violence.
- Develop a two-day practice-oriented training programme and accompanying materials.
- Deliver training sessions for officers of specialized domestic violence units in 2–3 pilot regions.
- Collect and analyse participant feedback and observations.
- Develop practical recommendations for strengthening gender-responsive response to domestic violence.
Required Experience
- At least 4 years of professional experience in violence against women and/or domestic violence, including in the context of Kazakhstan.
- At least 4 years of experience in developing and delivering training programmes on violence against women and/or domestic violence for police or other law enforcement professionals.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Kazakhstan’s legislation, policies and institutional framework, as well as international standards related to domestic violence.
- Demonstrated experience in developing policy recommendations, guidance or analytical products related to violence against women and/or domestic violence.
- Previous professional experience with UN agencies, other international organizations and/or government agencies in the area of violence against women and/or domestic violence.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or equivalent in gender studies, human rights, law, social sciences or another relevant field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted.
