Overview
Responsible for the planning and delivery of health, nutrition, and IPC components of specific projects within agreed timelines, budget, and quality standards, contributing to an integrated Ebola response.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver project implementation plans.
- Ensure health, nutrition, and IPC interventions are delivered in accordance with technical guidance and SOPs.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other project managers.
- Provide technical inputs for Observation Care Centres.
- Lead forecasting, quantification, procurement planning, and monitoring of essential supplies and equipment.
- Supervise and mentor project teams.
- Represent the organization in relevant coordination forums.
- Promote continuous quality improvement and documentation of lessons learned.
- Manage project implementation within timelines, budget, and compliance rules.
- Manage relationships and agreements with Ministry of Health partners.
- Provide technical oversight for safe patient flow and triage.
- Strengthen programme quality through mentoring, capacity building, and field monitoring.
- Ensure integration of safeguarding and safe programming.
- Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and prepare forecasts.
- Ensure interventions comply with donor and SCI requirements.
- Manage and supervise project staff, coach and mentor them, and identify training needs.
- Evaluate staff performance and set objectives.
- Represent the organization in coordination structures.
- Ensure project data is regularly uploaded into systems.
- Provide timely monitoring of programme implementation and achievement of indicators.
- Conduct programme performance reviews and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Prepare and submit high-quality technical reports, donor reports, and situation updates.
- Document best practices, innovations, and lessons learned.
- Support the development and implementation of emergency preparedness and response plans.
Required Experience
Strong experience of Health management in public health humanitarian settings including previous experience supporting Ebola, infectious disease outbreaks, or humanitarian emergency responses. Strong experience of managing the implementation of projects to achieve results, especially in a high-stress humanitarian context. Experience of managing budgets and ensuring timely expenditure within compliance rules. Demonstrated capacity to set priorities. Demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring staff operating in high-stress or emergency environments. Experience developing and facilitating trainings and capacity-building initiatives. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work and collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Experience working in the DRC or similar complex operational environments. Experience in disease outbreak management.
Qualifications
Medical Doctor/ Nurse or Public Health experience.
