Overview
The Security Associate is responsible for implementing and assessing security measures, maintaining equipment, and contributing to emergency planning to ensure the safety of WFP staff, facilities, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review security threats and risks and compile accurate reports.
- Produce analyses and in-depth reports using information management tools.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with local authorities, communities, and UN/NGO security staff.
- Plan and co-ordinate staff activities during field missions and perform security assessments.
- Analyse security assessment reports and present recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Advise the Country Director on security risk management and safety issues.
- Support the implementation of risk management mitigation measures, including MOSS.
- Support the maintenance and management of security equipment.
- Monitor and ensure effectiveness of access control procedures.
- Maintain and develop recommendations for improving emergency and contingency planning documentation.
- Deliver security training to staff and review training needs.
- Supervise and provide on-the-job training to other staff.
Required Experience
At least six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience in the Security Field such as military/police officer, Security Analyst, or any relevant security experience. Prior experience in emergency context is required.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.
