Overview
To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs, leading General Food Assistance (GFA) into effective and efficient programmes with digital solutions and through operational partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational aspect of General Food Assistance (GFA) activities through providing project management support and ensuring compliance with WFP standards and procedures.
- Oversee monthly e-Voucher distributions and ensure its full implementation.
- Lead the rapid response of General Food Assistance (GFA) activities, including pre-positioning and emergency preparedness.
- Support expansion of innovative initiatives like Fresh-Food Corners (FFC) and e-voucher activities.
- Develop sound relationships with key government stakeholders.
- Manage partnerships with General Food Assistance (GFA) Cooperating Partners (CPs), facilitate the Field Level Agreement (FLA) process, evaluate their performance and raise key issues.
- Support the capacity strengthening of CPs – particularly of Local NGOs –.
- Sustain and manage the Refugees Food Security Committees (RFSC) in the camps.
- Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems.
- Act as Community Feedback Mechanism (CFM) Supervisor for General Food Assistance (GFA) related Issues.
- Mainstream perspectives of AAP, Gender, Protection, and Disability Inclusion into programming.
- As Activity Manager (AM) General Food Assistance (GFA), lead and motivate the GFA Operation Team.
- Support external and internal missions to visit the camps.
- Perform any other duty as required, related to General Food Assistance (GFA).
Required Experience
Minimum 7 years’ experience in the humanitarian sector in planning, design and implementation of humanitarian or development programmes.
Qualifications
Completion of Advanced University Degree (Master’s or equivalent) is required. Education in International Affairs, Economics, Public Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international humanitarian/development assistance.
