Overview

The Operations Specialist assists transnational police, anti-crime, and disaster response cooperation within INTERPOL's member countries.


Key Responsibilities
  • Reception and assessment of all incoming information in all four official languages.
  • Assessment of urgency and implementation of action on operational, tactical, and strategic matters.
  • Provision of logistical and support services to member countries and field teams.
  • Facilitation of communication between National Central Bureaus (NCBs) and the General Secretariat.
  • Assistance in locating, identifying, and detaining persons and illegal goods, and monitoring their movements.
  • Provision of real-time services to locate and identify wanted persons or those using fraudulent documents.
  • Gathering, reporting, and processing information and data relevant to transnational crimes and criminals.
  • Preparation of clear, impartial, concise, and objective reports on all activities.
  • Assessment of needs, provision, and planning of relevant training.
  • Identification of best practices and setting of internationally shared standards for information exchange.
  • Daily quality control and compliance review for Notices, wanted diffusions, and other diffusions.
  • Replacement of supervisor when necessary.
  • Performance of any other duties as required by the supervisor.
Required Experience

At least three years’ experience in an area relevant to the department to which the incumbent will be assigned. Five years’ experience in the area is required if the incumbent does not have the required level of education.

Qualifications

At least two years’ University education in an area relevant to the incumbent’s duties.

Languages Required
Fluency in English and a second official language of the Organization is required.
Languages Preferred
Proficiency in a third official working language (Arabic, French or Spanish) would be an additional asset. Proficiency in a widely-spoken non-official language such as Russian or Mandarin would be an additional asset.

Your home Administration/Agency/Service/Government will be responsible for all of your salary/remuneration, social insurance, pension contributions, welfare benefits, family allowances, benefits during your assignment at INTERPOL as well as travel, removal expenses related to your arrival at and departure from INTERPOL, and any other related costs depending on your circumstances.
