The Chief, Salaries and Allowances Division, D1, provides guidance on matters relating to salaries, allowances, and related conditions of service for staff of the United Nations family.
A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience at the national level or international level, with a solid background in international compensation matters is required. Demonstrated excellent drafting ability is required. Knowledge of the UN salary system, preferably with practical experience at a responsible level in salary and allowances administration is desirable. Experience in human resources management is desirable. Knowledge of the United States compensation system is desirable.
An advanced university degree (Master’s or Doctorate degree, or equivalent) in human resources administration, business management, economics or equivalent is required. A first-level degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
