Overview
Design and develop a Pan-African feminist digital electoral platform (GEWA) to make elections and women candidates visible through a gender lens.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop the GEWA platform prototype.
- Build core platform modules including country dashboards, candidate profile pages, election calendar, gender alert tracker, thematic analysis hubs, and a searchable legal and policy database.
- Humanise and contextualise electoral data for candidate profile pages.
- Develop a user-friendly content management system.
- Strengthen partner capacity and platform sustainability through technical leadership, mentoring, and advisory support.
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in web development, digital platform design, dashboard development, data visualization, civic technology or related fields is required.
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing interactive websites, dashboards, databases or digital knowledge platforms is required.
- Experience developing content management systems or administrator interfaces for non-technical users is required.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into accessible visual products, including charts, maps, filters, scorecards or searchable databases is required.
- Experience with data protection, safeguarding, digital safety, user testing and ethical data management is strongly desirable.
- Experience working with women’s rights organisations, civil society, UN agencies, regional bodies or development partners is an asset.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or equivalent in information technology, computer science, web development or a related field is required; A first-level university degree in combination with additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
