CEIP ALBORXÍ CEIP Alborxi Volunteer opportunity: Solidaridad Centros Formativos - CEIP Alborxí
The CEIP Alborxí, in collaboration with the City Council of Alzira and its Local Development Agency IDEA, are looking for a participant for a long-term volunteering for a project in Alzira, Spain. The duration of the project is 9 months and will take place in CEIP Alborxi, a primary school located centrally in Alzira. Alzira is a town of about 45 000 citizens, located in the province of Valencia. In the region, mainly Valenciano language is spoken, in addition to Castellano. The school has students from pre-school to 6th grade, ages 3-12 years old. The participant will be included in various activities, under supervision of the teachers, with plenty of learning opportunities. The daily tasks will consist of material preparation, communication, creative activities, and language assistance. The volunteer will mainly assist in the English and Arts & Crafts classes (also taught in English). Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Accommodation and bills are covered by the coordinating organization. The volunteer will share a fully-equipped flat with other participants and will have their own bedroom. The volunteer receives a fixed amount of a monthly support allowance and pocket money (180 and 180 Euros). Training during the activity The sending organization of the volunteer will share more information on the European Solidarity Corps volunteering programme. The volunteer will also participate in the on-arrival and mid-term trainings by the Spanish National Agency. In addition, the participant will have the opportunity to take Spanish classes 2 hours per week (either Valenciano or Castellano). Participant profile We are looking for a candidate between 18-30 years old, with a passion for education and working with children. You may have experience with working with children and teaching, or this may be something you'd like to pursue. The most important is that you are willing to learn, and that you are a good team-player. As the participant will aid in classes taught in English, a good level of English will be advisable. Additionally, a basic level of Spanish will be an asset, as especially the younger children have a low level of English.
