Overview
Internship opportunity within the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) in the Insight and Accountability Unit. The role supports normative work related to risk management, evaluation, and lessons learned.
Tasks Summary
- Assist in preparing materials for meetings
- Analyze internal controls and mitigation measures
- Update Risk Registers, Risk Treatment Response Plans and Scorecards
- Conduct research and compile information
- Identify, analyze, document and interpret data
- Employ long-term, strategic thinking and data-driven techniques
- Critically evaluate information and data
- Support technical communication and coordination
- Support development and design of web platforms
- Support production of reports, presentations and infographics
- Provide support in translation of data into analytics and reporting
- Assist in drafting, editing/revision of briefs and reports
- Conduct research on relevant topics
- Assist in preparing for meetings
- Contribute to data management functions
- Assist in drafting correspondence and talking points
- Assist with preparation and dissemination of materials
- Fulfill other duties as required
Experience Requirements
Qualification Requirements
- Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
- Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent)
- Graduated with a university degree
- Computer literate and proficient in standard software applications (e.g., MS Office 365 or similar)
- Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations
- Demonstrated personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter
- Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of diff
