Overview

Internship supporting the Conflict-Related Sexual Violence Team in preventing and responding to conflict-related sexual violence through policy, guidance, and operational support.


Tasks Summary
  • Assist in research on Conflict-Related Sexual Violence
  • Conduct social media monitoring on Conflict-Related Sexual Violence in peacekeeping settings
  • Monitor and report on global Conflict-Related Sexual Violence developments
  • Take notes, analyze, and report on relevant events
  • Support event planning (online and in-person)
  • Contribute to awareness-raising communications materials
  • Support training development and delivery
  • Assist in reviewing policies, papers, and documents
  • Assist in preparing reports, concept papers, policy documents, talking points, and articles
  • Attend and support note-taking at conferences and meetings
  • Assist in editing, content creation, design, and layout for digital learning products or translation

Experience Requirements
  • Experience in preparing, editing, and/or translating policy documents and communication products.
  • Experience in supporting the organization of events.

Qualification Requirements
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
  • OR enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent)
  • Field of study closely related to the internship.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English and French.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of Arabic.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality: in person and full-time (35 hours per week), located at the United Nations premises in New York, USA. This internship is designed to be full-time and in-person but can be adjusted based on the needs of the successful candidate to part-time (20 hours per week) and/or remote.

Remuneration: UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
