Overview

Support innovation projects, research, and communications within the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs. Assist with digital tools, events, and coordination.

Tasks Summary

• Support brainstorming, project planning, implementation, and evaluation of innovation projects.
• Conduct background research on innovation, conflict analysis, peacemaking, and peacebuilding.
• Assist with briefing notes, presentations, and talking points.
• Support social media analysis, digital dialogues, digital transformation, and generative-AI related work.
• Attend meetings, summarize discussions, and support logistics and partner coordination.

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Enrolled in or completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• OR enrolled in or completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
• Field of study closely related to the internship.
• Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, reasoning, and critical thinking skills.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language.

Contract Duration: Up to 6 months.

Work Modality: In Person. Hybrid working arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Remuneration: This internship is unpaid. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
