Overview

Serves as the principal advisor at the regional level for programme, technical, and policy advice in gender and human rights. Works to strengthen protection systems for advancing human rights and promoting sexual and reproductive rights.

Tasks Summary

• Provides technical, policy, and programme leadership in gender equality and human rights, focusing on GBV, gender equality, women's empowerment, and reproductive rights.
• Identifies and analyzes trends, threats, and risks related to gender equality and human rights.
• Supports the integration of strategic actions to engage men and boys for gender equality.
• Contributes to the development and implementation of an integrated strategy for technical assistance and programme support.
• Advises country offices on the implementation of UNFPA policies, strategies, and tools on gender equality and women's rights.

Experience Requirements

Experience in providing programme, technical, and policy advice in gender and human rights at the regional level. Experience in strengthening protection systems for advancing human rights and promoting sexual and reproductive rights. Experience in leading on GBV programming, including in emergencies. Experience in advancing gender equality and women's empowerment, addressing social and gender norms. Experience working across humanitarian and development contexts.
