INTERNATIONALER BUND-IB BERLIN-BRANDENBURG GGMBH FUR BILDUNG UND SOZIALE DIENSTE (IB BERLIN-BRANDENBURG GGMBH) BERLIN, Germany Volunteer opportunity: Volunteering at IB secondary school in Spanish class (near Berlin)
The purpose of the project is to support the Spanish teacher with the preparation of class materials and with assistance during and after class. We have four Spanish classes at our Oberschule Neuenhagen, that are attended by students at around 13-16 years. The volunteer is expected to help with the preparation and implementation of this class, doing paper work and assisting the teacher very closely. The tasks also encompass the implementation of consortia, and help out in other subjects such as the English class. Also the volunteer will accompany school excursions and class trips. The classes are held in Spanish and German language, so an advanced knowledge in Spanish and German is required. The volunteer should preferably have basic knowledge about classroom management. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The volunteer will live in an IB rented apartment close to the school. The apartment included a kitchen and bathroom and is well furnished. Rent is paid by the hosting organisation. The volunteer will receive food and pocket money every month (around 400 EUR together) and will also get a public transport ticket. Training during the activity The volunteer can use a Erasmus+ language online course to learn German and is obliged to take part in two ESC seminars (introductory seminar six weeks after the start of the activity and mid-term meeting six months after the start of the activity). Participant profile Participants preferably should have basic German and advanced Spanish language skills, as they will be involved closely into the class implementation. Basic knowledge in class management and intercultural work is desirable.
