Overview

Supports the development and implementation of the Defence Education Enhancement Programme (DEEP) and other capacity building activities for partners. Identifies needs and gaps in education institutions within the defence and military domain.


Tasks Summary
  • Supports the development and implementation of DEEP and other capacity building activities
  • Identifies needs and gaps of education institutions in the defence and military domain
  • Supports day-to-day management of DEEP and associated projects
  • Designs, plans, implements, manages, monitors and coordinates projects
  • Coordinates academic leads and subject matter experts
  • Ensures project deliverables are attainable and guides progress
  • Identifies risks and undertakes contingency planning
  • Engages with stakeholders to ensure resourcing and implementation
  • Monitors and evaluates progress
  • Plans and executes activities to build capacities of selected partners
  • Manages other projects as directed
  • Develops and implements project management processes, procedures and tools
  • Plans, manages and monitors project budgets
  • Acts as a focal point for assigned thematic areas
  • Implements and maintains a knowledge management system
  • Assists in communication and knowledge sharing efforts
  • Contributes to public briefing materials
  • Engages with stakeholders from within NATO, Allies and partners
  • Works closely with NATO internal services, academic community, PFP Consortium, Locally Engaged Staff and authorities of DEEP recipients

Experience Requirements
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the field of defence and security
  • Good understanding of institution and capacity building processes
  • Knowledge and experience in applying programme and project management methods and tools
  • Knowledge and experience in the development and management of multinational programmes related to defence education enhancement
  • Demonstrates political awareness and a good understanding of NATO partnerships

Qualification Requirements

• University degree or equivalent qualification from an institute of recognised standing in a relevant discipline

Other Details

Languages Required: • English/French: V (“Advanced”) in one and I (“Beginner”) in the other

Remuneration: • 5,234.63 Euro (EUR) Monthly
