Overview
Part-time language teachers prepare and facilitate lessons, deliver scheduled courses, maintain learning material, and correct assignments. They administer evaluations, report attendance, and collaborate with others.
Tasks Summary
- Prepare and facilitate lessons aligned with the UN Language Framework (UNLF)
- Deliver interactive linguistic training in person or online
- Design and select methods to assess learners' progress
- Seek feedback from participants and provide reports to the Team Leader
- Prepare the learning environment and support devices
- Monitor and record students' attendance
- Contribute to the Language Programme by attending meetings and collaborating with the administration team
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of five years of experience teaching French as a foreign or second language, of which three years must be recent
- Experience using a variety of e-learning tools, O365 and online collaboration tools to teach a second or foreign language
- Experience in working with adults in a multicultural setting
Qualification Requirements
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent degree) in language area studies, language teaching, applied linguistics, communication or education/pedagogy or related area is required
- A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree
