Tasks Summary
- Improve visibility of UN programs through messaging and media engagement
- Support implementation of UN Country Team communications strategy
- Create visually compelling graphic design materials
- Participate in and support UN Communication Group activities
- Update UN Country Team on activities of UN Agencies in Eritrea
- Assist in implementing social media and communications strategy
- Design visualizations and data stories for impact stories
- Identify key audiences and tailor communication strategies
- Support planning and conceptualizing events or advocacy activities
- Coordinate visits to Eritrea by delegations
- Maintain and update the UN Eritrea website
- Maintain a photo database
- Create content for press releases, articles, and social media
- Build relationships with local and international media outlets
- Coordinate media events and respond to inquiries
- Collaborate with UN agencies and partners for a unified communication approach
- Organize workshops on effective communication strategies
- Monitor and evaluate communication strategies and adjust as necessary
- Prepare regular reports on communication activities
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years in strategic communications, preferably in the UN or international development
- Proven experience in graphic design and social media management
Qualification Requirements
• Advanced degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
