This volunteering activity aims to boost environmental awareness and encourage active participation among young people in the Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia. As part of the ESC program at the International Scout Center Rustavi (ISCR), volunteers work alongside ISCR staff to help organise events and share cultural perspectives with the local community. The project includes a wide range of activities: supporting sustainable educational programs, organising hikes and camps, managing ISCR’s social media platforms, and leading language clubs or creative workshops. Volunteers also contribute to the daily operations of ISCR, taking part in program management, maintenance tasks, and guest services. Another key responsibility is promoting ESC programs and values in local schools, with a special focus on reaching underserved youth who may have fewer opportunities. The expected impact is greater environmental awareness and stronger cross‑cultural understanding among the young people. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The volunteer will be accommodated either in an apartment in Rustavi or at ISCR’s Scout Villa/Youth Hostel, in a private or shared room with other volunteers. They will receive a monthly food allowance and will be responsible for preparing their own meals. Participant profile Active and curious, ready to help and with ability to work in team. English (B1 level or higher). Experience in outdoor and scouting activities such as abseiling, hiking, mountain climbing, camping, and bouldering is valuable. A first aid training certificate is a plus. Familiarity with social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok is expected, along with proficiency in video and photo editing tools such as Canva, CapCut, Figma, or similar.
