Overview

Provide technical assistance for the development of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP), and the adaptation and Loss & Damage (L&D) components of the NDC 3.0, as well as other key policy instruments.


Tasks Summary
  • Carry out and document policy analysis and assessment in relation to adaptation and L&D measures and activities assigned to sectors under the PECC
  • Analyze information reported by Mexican Government institutions regarding actions and progress on adaptation and loss and damage
  • Coordinate a process to map existing measures, activities and initiatives to prevent and address loss and damage
  • Produce technical recommendations for the PECC considering the incorporation of loss and damage in the NDC
  • Support coordination, communication, and follow-up mechanisms to equip the PECC with tools for reporting progress on adaptation and L&D components of the NDC
  • Support the review of information on adaptation reported in the electronic platform of the Special Program on Climate Change
  • Develop an action plan for the implementation of the updated NDC’s adaptation component
  • Develop and carry out an action plan for the implementation of the adaptation component of the NDC 3.0
  • Organize consultations to identify main tasks to implement the adaptation component of the NDC
  • Develop a draft roadmap for the NDC’s updated adaptation component
  • Lead the edition of materials to spread and socialize the content of the updated NDC 3.0
  • Develop an action plan for the loss and damage NDC’s component
  • Develop and carry out an action plan for the implementation of the new NDC’s loss and damage component
  • Organize consultations to identify main tasks to implement the loss and damage component of the NDC 3.0
  • Develop a draft roadmap for the new NDC’s loss and damage component
  • Support the development of Mexico's first NAP, as well as its adoption, implementation and monitoring
  • Organize inter-ministerial and multi-stakeholder consultation processes to gather and systematize inputs for NAP development
  • Produce technical recommendations for the integration of actionable

Experience Requirements

Specialized technical expertise embedded within national processes to guide the design, alignment, and operationalization of adaptation-related policy instruments.
