Overview

Provide technical assistance for inter-secretariat coordination to monitor and follow up on actions outlined in the NDC 3.0 regarding adaptation and loss and damage. Enable the monitoring and review of information tracking actions from the Government of Mexico for NDC 3.0 implementation.


Tasks Summary
  • Support organization and oversee proceedings of Adaptation Policy Working Group (GT-ADAPT) and REDD+ Working Group (GT-REDD+) meetings
  • Oversee substantive preparations and follow-up to agreements of GT-ADAPT and GT-REDD+
  • Update directories for GT-ADAPT, GT-REDD+, and principal stakeholders
  • Develop updated database for GT-ADAPT
  • Draft reports of coordination mechanisms with stakeholders
  • Prepare reports of policy analysis and policy assessment of NDC achievements
  • Draft invitations and call documents
  • Draft event reports (minutes) and propose drafting agreements
  • Prepare materials for meetings and events
  • Elaborate brief reports of other requested activities
  • Coordinate and provide logistical and substantive support for meeting organization

Experience Requirements
  • Experience in providing technical assistance for inter-secretariat coordination
  • Experience in monitoring and follow-up of actions related to adaptation and loss and damage
  • Experience in developing and strengthening transparency mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in advising governments on integrating human rights and gender perspectives into climate policy

Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environment, natural resources, sustainable development, economics, policy science, administration, planning, or a closely related field (Required)
  • Master’s degree in climate change, economy, finance, political sciences, planning, project management or a closely related field (Desired)
Other Details

Contract Duration: 18 months

Work Modality: hybrid work model, where the consultant will participate to in-person activities such as meetings and stakeholder engagements as required, at the SEMARNAT located in Mexico City, Mexico. This arrangement will be coordinated and approved by the SEMARNAT.
