Overview
The Programme Officer will manage, coordinate, and implement anti-human trafficking and migrant smuggling technical cooperation projects in Central America and the Caribbean. The role involves promoting UNODC's work and providing technical assistance.
Tasks Summary
- Assist in managing, coordinating, and implementing anti-human trafficking and migrant smuggling technical cooperation projects and interventions.
- Promote UNODC's work against human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
- Develop, manage, and implement technical assistance projects.
- Coordinate, monitor, and analyse project implementation.
- Contribute to the implementation, refinement, and assessment of UNODC Action against Trafficking in Persons and the Smuggling of Migrants.
- Facilitate and provide training and capacity-building assistance.
- Prepare written outputs such as background papers, analyses, and reports.
- Provide substantive support to meetings and conferences.
- Provide technical advice and inputs to UN Country Teams and Regional Development Coordination Offices.
- Support the visibility of UNODC’s work.
- Participate in or lead field missions.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and provide insights.
Experience Requirements
- Has in-depth knowledge and specialization in the field of human trafficking and/or migrant smuggling.
- Has knowledge of policies and practices in crime prevention and criminal justice.
- Has knowledge of the mandates of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
- Has knowledge of and specialization in substantive and functional areas with very good research and analytical skills.
Qualification Requirements
