Overview
The Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer will coordinate the implementation of capacity building activities and provide technical assistance to criminal justice practitioners on addressing trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants.
Tasks Summary
- Coordinate implementation of capacity building outputs
- Provide technical assistance to law enforcement, prosecutors and judiciary on TIP and SOM
- Design and deliver training programmes and operational mentoring on countering TIP and SOM
- Strengthen cooperation and coordination between Federal Iraq and KRI counterparts
- Contribute to the development of SOPs, guidance notes, and institutional capacity development tools
- Support development and delivery of capacity-building programmes on intelligence gathering and analysis
- Facilitate regional and international cooperation in mutual legal assistance and joint investigations
- Assist in advancing legal and policy reform
- Contribute to enhancing institutional frameworks and inter-agency cooperation
- Develop and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders
- Prepare reports, presentations and visibility content
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns
Experience Requirements
- Substantive knowledge and experience in countering trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants
- Understanding of criminal investigation techniques, intelligence analysis, mutual legal assistance and international cooperation
- Proven ability to design and deliver training
- Strong drafting skills and knowledge of regional legal frameworks
- Commitment to gender equality and human rights-based approaches
