Overview
Supports the planning, organisation and delivery of Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) sessions and other related meetings. Provides expertise in supporting intergovernmental environmental negotiations and outreach activities.
Tasks Summary
- Supports planning, organisation and delivery of INC sessions and meetings
- Provides expertise in supporting intergovernmental environmental negotiations
- Drafts scripts and speaking notes
- Supports outreach and liaison with Member States
- Assists with logistics and technical arrangements for meetings
- Contributes to written outputs such as background papers and reports
- Supports resource mobilization and donor engagement
- Monitors and analyzes programme/project development
- Carries out basic research and collects/analyzes data
- Provides substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation
- Assists in planning and facilitating workshops
- Participates in survey and assessment initiatives
- Participates in field missions
- Supports coordination of budget and funding activities
- Contributes to data collection and analysis for evidence-based planning
Experience Requirements
- Demonstrable expertise in supporting intergovernmental environmental negotiations
- Experience in the use of various research sources, including electronic sources on the internet, intranet and other databases
- Experience in programme/project development, implementation and evaluation
