Overview

Provides technical and administrative support for the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned projects focusing on nature and climate action in mountain ecosystems.


Tasks Summary
  • Provides technical and administrative support for project development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Monitors and analyzes project development and implementation aspects.
  • Reviews documents and reports, identifies issues, and recommends corrective actions.
  • Liaises with relevant parties and tracks follow-up actions.
  • Defines and establishes synergies and cooperation aligned with SDGs and biodiversity frameworks.
  • Supports the development of initiatives and project ideas, including resource mobilization.
  • Conducts basic research on mountain ecosystems and climate change.
  • Collects, analyzes, and presents statistical data and information.
  • Provides substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation.
  • Reviews and analyzes development issues and trends in ecosystem degradation, wildlife conservation, biodiversity loss, and climate change.
  • Assists in consulting assignments, planning workshops, and developing action plans.
  • Contributes to written outputs such as background papers, analytical notes, and reports.
  • Provides administrative and substantive support for meetings and conferences.
  • Undertakes outreach activities related to the global mountains programme and assigned projects.
  • Participates in the development of training workshops and seminars.
  • Makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
  • Participates in field missions, providing substantive and administrative support and data collection.
  • Coordinates activities related to budget funding and prepares related documents/reports.
  • Contributes to data collection and analysis, identifying trends and patterns.
  • Provides draft insights using data visualization methods.
  • Performs other duties as may be required.

Experience Requirements

Familiarity with and experience in the use of various research sources, including electronic sources on the internet, intranet and other databases.
