Overview

Provide logistic and substantive support to capacity-building activities for law enforcement agencies combating online sexual exploitation and abuse of children, and assist in coordinating project management.


Tasks Summary
  • Provide logistic and substantive support for capacity-building activities for law enforcement agencies combating online sexual exploitation and abuse of children
  • Assist in coordinating project management, including progress reports and programme of work preparation
  • Assist in carrying out and reviewing research on combating online sexual exploitation and abuse of children
  • Contribute to developing guidance, training materials, and recommendations for law enforcement agencies on AI tools
  • Liaise with private sector partners, particularly AI companies, to inform programme design and implementation
  • Participate in and review survey initiatives, collect, analyse and interpret data
  • Contribute to outreach and external engagement, including delivering presentations
  • Participate in field missions, providing substantive and administrative support
  • Collect and analyse data to identify trends or patterns for planning and decision-making

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience on international projects related to the prevention of online sexual exploitation and abuse of children OR successful completion of the Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P)
  • Work experience in organising capacity building activities and training for law enforcement agencies combating online sexual exploitation and abuse of children is desirable
  • Experience in liaising with artificial intelligence companies designing tools to combat online sexual exploitation and abuse of children is desirable
  • Work experience with law enforcement agencies and the development of tailored guidance and recommendations in the field of child protection or online sexual exploitation and abuse of children is desirable
  • Work experience within the United Nations system or other similar international organisations is desirable
  • Work experience in collecting, analysing and interpreting data from child protection databases managed by international partners is desirable
  • Work experience with the use of artificial intelligence tools related to the prevention of online sexual exploitation and abuse of children is desirable

Qualification Requirements
  • An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in criminology, law, international security, international relations, political science, or other relevant discipline, is required
  • A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree
  • A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the United Nations Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P)
