Overview

This role involves developing, implementing, and evaluating programmes and projects within the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism. It supports the Head of the Programme Office in inter-governmental relations, donor support, and coordination with national interlocutors.


Tasks Summary
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates programmes/projects
  • Monitors and analyzes programme/project development and implementation
  • Liaises with relevant parties and ensures follow-up actions
  • Supports the head of the Programme Office with inter-governmental relations and donor support
  • Coordinates and conducts outreach with national interlocutors and institutions
  • Advises on programmes and policies using local expertise
  • Performs consulting assignments and assists in developing action plans
  • Researches, analyzes, and presents information from diverse sources
  • Coordinates policy development and conducts research activities
  • Generates survey initiatives, designs data collection tools, and analyzes responses
  • Organizes and prepares written outputs such as background papers and reports
  • Provides substantive backstopping for meetings and conferences
  • Initiates and coordinates outreach activities and conducts training workshops
  • Leads and/or participates in field missions
  • Coordinates activities related to budget funding and prepares related documents
  • Collects and analyzes data to identify trends and provide insights
  • Performs other duties as required

Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required
  • A minimum of five years of experience working in law enforcement and/or intelligence agencies of African member states, as well as with regional African organizations, is required

Qualification Requirements

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
